INTENSIVE COURSES OF RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE 

Kursk State University is one of the oldest and the most prestigious universities of the Central Region of Russia. The university offers Russian language classes at all levels of proficiency throughout the academic year and annually holds Summer Schools of the Russian language and culture during which students have intensive language practice and get acquainted with the culture, traditions and modern political and economic life in Russia. 

Kursk is a city with a thousand-year-history, a cultural, administrative and industrial center of Kursk province. Unique archeological monuments and architecture of the city, its history and culture are of great interest. Picturesque environment of the province will leave unforgettable impression about your visit to the city.
The university campus is conveniently located in the center of the city. The stores, city transportation, cafes, international telephone service and a post office are all situated in close proximity.

Four-week Summer Schools in July-September include:

  • 30 contact hours of instruction per week
  • extensive communication with native speakers
  • various extracurricular activities and excursions
  • accommodations
  • board on week-days
  • Moscow-Kursk-Moscow transfer

Academic program

The system of Russian language, literature and cultural studies provided by Kursk State University helps to easily overcome language or cultural barriers. 
Students are placed in groups by their level of language proficiency according to results of a placement test, taken on the first program day. 

Classes are taught by highly qualified native-speaker instructors, who have been certified to teach Russian as a foreign language by Pushkin State Russian Language Institute (Moscow) and Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (Moscow). All instructors have extensive experience of teaching Russian as a foreign language.

Teaching in English is available. 

Extracurricular program

The program includes various excursions and field trips to sites of historical and cultural interest in Kursk and its environs. 

Accommodations

Students stay in a dormitory, located within walking distance to the university. Double rooms
are provided that are equipped with a bathroom. There is a shared kitchen available. 

Cost

The cost of the program depends on a number of students per group and overall number of groups. The advisable number of students per group is 8 people.
The course fee includes tuition, fees, accommodations, three meals a day on week days, group excursions and field trips, Moscow–Kursk and Kursk–Moscow transfer upon arrival and before departure. 

Additional costs: airfare, visa fee, and personal expenses.
