WHAT IS OUR SUMMER SCHOOL “MYSTERY OF RUSSIAN CULTURE”?

Summer School “Mystery of Russian culture” is organized to introduce fundamentals of Russian culture to German youth and to help young people to dispel the myths about different Russian stereotypes. You‘ll have the opportunity to get acquainted with Russian culture and language, to participate in a wide range of activities but don’t be afraid as the main language of communication will be English.

We offer:
• 2-week intensive educational programs in:
  • Russian culture (in English)
  • Russian Language (survival, basic, intermediate levels depending on the participants’ background)
• 6 hours of instruction per day
• Groups of 3 to10 learners
• Highly-qualified tutors and experienced outdoor activity instructors
• Advanced teaching techniques (discussions, role-plays, dramas, outdoor classes, etc.)
• Certificate of Kursk State University
• Flexible curriculum and a great variety of outdoor activities
• Entertainment (sightseeing, outings, dancing, picnics)
• Extensive communication with native speakers

• Moscow-Kursk-Moscow transfer

Learning

Culture study includes a variety of exciting aspects devoted to Russian history, traditions, religion, arts and folk crafts, as well as glimpses of everyday life. You will get a chance to compare existing stereotypes of Russia and its national identity, to get theoretical knowledge on Russian folklore, crafts, cuisine and to get practical skills in singing traditional Russian songs, playing the balalaika, dancing stirring Russian Kalinka and cooking Russian pelmeni. All mentioned above and much more is in the program “The Culture of Russia”.

“The Russian Language” program is aimed at acquiring communicative skills in native speaking environment. Facilities, instructors, educational and social events are integrated into a program of the highest quality. Experienced tutors will help you explore the language through dialogues, role-playing and dramas and other exciting activities. A friendly and creative atmosphere in class will make learning a real adventure. Outside the classroom, we provide you with many opportunities to use Russian in the real world. Every day a new entertainment will give you an opportunity to relax and practice everything you have learned. Individual approach will help you to pursue your goals most effectively. Room and Board

You will stay at students’ hostel within the walking distance to the university. Double rooms with a shared bathroom. Three meals a day meeting various tastes and diets.
